Society has changed beyond belief, even since our parents' day; and I can guarantee it is harder now. Our lives are more hectic; we often have to work all the hours just to be able to fund our mortgage or our shopping habits. It is no wonder that we do not have the time to socialise in the same way that we used to.
We also often used to find husbands through family or friends, but so much of our life now is spent at work or on the computer that we just don't meet as many people, that is a fact. People now are much more insular than they used to be and keep themselves to themselves.
Which brings me back to my point! You have to make an effort to go out and find the love of your life. There is no white horse and no shining armour any more. The most you can hope for is a kind, dependable (and hopefully a little attractive!) partner who you can rely on.
