I am a tried and tested lover of technology and yet even I get a little scared sometimes when I think about how reliant we are on technology. Most of us would agree that we would be lost without our iPhone dating apps and the ability to connect to the internet almost anywhere. How on earth would we do our shopping, check train timetables or book a flight?
The truth is that we have become so dependent on technology that our worlds would fall apart if we were to be cut off at the cord, so to speak.
The way we live our lives and even interact with families and friends has totally changed from a few decades ago and it is difficult to imagine going back to a dark world without internet or mobile phones.
If we even have an internet outage for an hour or two there is absolute panic, especially from those addicted to chat rooms and social media sites. The internet is their world now and they cannot exist without it.
And yet we are a resilient race which is why we have lasted for so many years on this earth and if the worst came to the worst we would of course have to find a way to live without technology – until we could find the means to bring it back!
